Wooly bully alpaca fingerless gloves

Yes I've made myself yet another pair of hand warmers using my granny square glove pattern, it's such a fast pattern you can make them in the morning and wear them in the afternoon. This time I've treated myself to some luxury wool, using Wool and the gang wooly bully alpaca. The wool is super soft and lovely to crochet with, and forms a gorgeous texture in a granny square pattern. If you would like to make a pair, click on the link to take you to my pattern.

I'm so happy recently on my Instagram page my granny square love has inspired a few ladies to pick up a hook and tackle there very first granny square. This post is for the newbie crocheters out there, anything I can do to spread the granny square love.

Going back to basics, remembering the first thing I ever crocheted 3 years ago, how could I forget my very first granny square, it was wonky missing stitches and a little bit cute, why did I not take a picture of it.

Anyway here's my granny square story. Over 3 years ago I joined instagram, I used to sew a lot make pretty skirts and love my sewing machine, I would post my cute little handmade pictures on instagram. Not knowing that in a few years time I would be a complete crochet addict. I meet all these new lovely instagram friends through Allison Sadler #makeitsewcial a lot of them made the most amazing crochet makes, they inspired me to pick up a hook.

I had seen so many totally awesome granny squares, that was the first thing I desperately wanted to make. I watched endless you tubes videos, I was not finding it easy, I was a slow learner if it was not for my desperation to make a granny square I would of just given up. So I booked myself into a beginner granny square 1 day workshop at my local yarn shop, yay I had finally made a successful square, I was super duper happy then I just couldn't stop making them in all the colours.

Now I can most probably crochet a granny square with my eyes closed, still absolutely love making them, can't you tell. Haha

Click on the link above, if you would like to see my pattern I use to crochet my granny squares.
